Filing Fees
- $81.00 total baseline fee (assuming a standard 1-page bond with 1 conformed copy back) ($64.00 Clerk notary oath filing fee + a $14.00 Recorder fee for the first page of the physical bond + a $2.00 copy fee + a $1.00 certification fee to return a legally conformed copy back to the applicant).
- $3.00 per page for each additional page of the bond after the first page.

Appointment Requirements
Appointments are not required in San Diego County.
They handle notary public filings on a direct, first-come, first-served walk-in basis across the four approved branches. Counter Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM across all functional branches.
While the administrative buildings remain accessible later, the public transaction windows freeze processing at 4:00 PM sharp.

Mail Filing Option
San Diego County also offers mail filing. The applicant must first take their oath of office before an active Notary Public physically located within San Diego County to execute the swearing block.
Strict “Two-Week” Mail-In Rule: San Diego County explicitly warns that mail-in packets must be received in their office at least two full weeks before the state’s 30-day deadline expires. The county explicitly states: “Postmarked dates are not valid and delivery times may vary. If received late, it will be returned unfiled.
