Mail Filing Option

Modoc County also offers mail filing. The applicant must first take their oath of office before an active Notary Public within Modoc County to have the swearing forms executed. Send a copy of the Secretary of State commission certificate, two completed copies of the Oath of Office (signed by the administering notary), the original $15,000 surety bond, a duplicate copy of the bond (which the county requires for filing confirmation), and both required separate checks ($7.00 to Modoc County Clerk and $10.00 to Modoc County Recorder).
