Filing Fees
- $43 registration and bond recording fee (includes clerk’s fee of $16, filing fee of $7, $20 for the first page
- $3 for each additional page of the bond
- $3 for each backside of a page

- Apple Pay and Samsung Pay: ($1.75 service fee and maximum limit of $15,000)
Not accepted:
- E-Check
- Temporary check
- Foreign check (with the exception of Canada and Mexico)
If an E-Check, temporary or foreign check is received, the request will be rejected and sent back to the submitter requesting a new method of payment.
Appointment Requirements
Appointments are required in Los Angeles County. You can schedule your appointment using the official county website below.
They operate on a strict appointment-only schedule for in-person notary filings. Their appointment windows are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Walk-ins without a digital appointment confirmation will be turned away at the door.

Mail Filing Option
Los Angeles County also offer mail filling. Mail Filing Guidelines: Due to the massive population, many LA residents choose to file by mail to avoid driving to a regional office. The applicant must first take their oath of office before an active Notary Public physically located within Los Angeles County.
Mailing Process: Send an original or copy of the state commission certificate, the original $15,000 bond (with wet signature), two original unsigned oath forms (which the local notary will execute), a check/money order for exactly $43.00 (assuming a 1-page bond), and a self-addressed stamped envelope for your receipt copies.
