Appointment Requirements
Appointments are not required in Lassen County. Notary registrations are handled purely on a walk-in basis.
Office Phone Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Public Office/Lobby Hours: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Strict Recording Cutoff: Official notary/bond recordings stop processing at 3:00 PM.
Daily Closures & Limitations: The entire lobby completely shuts down and locks its doors from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM daily for lunch. Walk-in applicants must ensure they arrive before 3:00 PM to get their bond officially registered into the recording system.

Mail Filing Option
Lassen County also offers mail filing. The applicant must take their oath of office before an active Notary Public within Lassen County first to have the paperwork properly executed.
