- $30.00 total baseline fee ($16.00 Notary Public Filing fee + a $14.00 recording fee for the first page of the bond).
- $3.00 per page for each additional page of the bond after the first page.
- Non-Conforming Page Penalty: $3.00 extra per page if the bond pages are any size other than standard 8.5″” x 11″”.

Appointments are not required in Inyo County.
Notary registrations are handled purely on a walk-in basis.
Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Lobby/Counter Service Hours: 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Daily Lunch Closure: The entire lobby and public service counter completely shuts down and locks its doors from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM every single day for lunch. Public processing also cuts off precisely at 4:00 PM.

Mail Filing Option
Inyo County also offers mail filing. The applicant must first take their oath of office before an active, commissioned Notary Public within Inyo County. Mail the original $15,000 surety bond, two completed copies of the Oath of Office (signed and executed by the administering notary), a copy of the Secretary of State commission certificate, and a check or money order for the exact amount to their designated mailing address (P.O. Box F, Independence, CA 93526). Tip: Include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
